Feeling fragmented or disconnected from your body? Want to feel more grounded and more in touch with your emotions? Want to heal past traumas? Sick of people pushing you around or want to be a better leader? Then Equine Facilitated Learning could be what you are looking for. Or you may just have a love of animals and horses in particular and would really enjoy relating to them on a deeper level. For those of you who already own a horse and looking for a stronger connection or increased understanding of your equine friend, then again EFL could offer you this. An Equine Facilitated Learning session involves being in the presence of a horse and a trained EFL facilitator. Horses are totally in the present and don’t hide their emotions as we do. If we allow them to, they can offer us support on many levels – emotionally, physically and spiritually. When we are in the presence of a horse we have a heightened sense of awareness, by virtue of their size. There is also a resonance between us and they are very perceptive. They mirror our emotions, in their behavior and body language, even though we may not be aware of the emotion in ourselves. How we relate to the horse and more importantly how the horse relates to us during an EFL session provides valuable information to the facilitator and to us throughout the process. Through the process the horse and human facilitator assists you to connect with your body, your feelings, sensations and emotions. This inner learning is then taken away from the session and can be incorporated into your daily life. With this inner knowledge come benefits which can be profound, very powerful and enduring. No previous experience with horses is required to be a client in an Equine Facilitated Learning session. The sessions are carried out in a safe setting with a horse and an experienced facilitator who comes from a coaching perspective. An EFL session, under certain circumstances, can be carried out with a clients own horse if they wish. The number of sessions you may require is up to you – some people are happy just to have a one off session, others may want to have more than one. This is something to discuss with your facilitator at the time. Current cost as at 1 July 2011 is $100 per session. Some travel costs may apply. Your facilitator Beth Godwin, has a background in psychology, management, teaching and coaching. Through her own healing journey she has done courses in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Level 3, PSYCH-K, Reiki 3A, and other healing disciplines. Her horse experience began as a child but is wasn’t till later in midlife, again as part of a healing process, that she rekindled her love of these wonderful beings. She has followed a varied path into horsmanship through attending clinics with the likes of Peggy Cummings, Pat Parelli, Buck Branaman, Ray Hunt, Mark Rashid, Monty Roberts, Andrew MacLean, and Dr Deb Bennett. She has also followed the Parelli system and enjoyed Connected Riding as part of her pleasure riding with her horses. Beth has trained in Equine Facilitated Learning with the co creator of the Epona Approach, Kathleen Barry Ingram (www.sacredplaceofpossiblity.com) and others. She has travelled to both the Netherlands and Germany to complete her training and is in an ongoing mentorship with Kathleen. Contact Aquila Coaching now to find out more. |
